Missguided Babe Power

Earlier this year, Missguided launched Babe Power and my ears pricked up. When I think Missguided, I don't think perfume so I always found this launch a bit odd but that didn't stop me wanting to know everything about it and what it smelt like. With Christmas lurking and Babe Power now available in a gift set with a fluffy pink pom pom, well, it was time to try it out.

I'm a sucker for a new fragrance which is the other reason I had to try out Missguided's Babe Power for myself. Missguided describes it as a fragrance for fierce babes looking for a boost to keep slaying all day. The Beauty Awards Gold winner comes in a rose gold, chrome can with the ring pull being how you release the scent. It's fun, girly and plays on the girl boss mantra which I'm personally not a fan of but I think works really well for the brand. I also love the way they've added a pom pom to the gift set rather than a body lotion like most sets.

The outer packaging comes with the #BabesOfMissguided commandants adorned down the side with quotes such as always be a boss babe, always ignore the bank balance and always slay the selfie. I fear some people may find this mildly offensive but Missguided do say it's designed to evoke a feeling of strength, confidence and femininity so I suppose it's personal preference on how you embody feminism yourself.

The scent itself is exactly what you would expect, sweet, girly and flirty. The perfume is made up of top notes of grapefruit zest, sour cherry, pink pepper, crisp apple, pineapple and rhubarb, heart notes of orange blossom, peony and jasmine and finally, base notes of vanilla, candy floss, sensual musk, amber crystals. It's exactly what I expected from Missguided and it is perfect for their younger target audience.

The gift set contains the 80ml perfume bottle and faux fur pom pom amd retails at £28.00 which I think is really responsibly priced for the brand. They're seen as a well priced, fast fashion brand so I can't imagine they would've been able to retail this higher. Available from Boots, Superdrug and The Fragrance Shop this would make someone very happy this Christmas.

  1. I have to say that I don't think this would be for me - not necessarily the perfume itself but the quotes on the box would just make me cringe! I'm so no into the term #girlboss of anything similar! Maybe I'm getting old but it just seems so juvenile to me. That said, there is obviously a market for it! xx

  3. I really don’t know how I feel about ‘always ignore the bank balance’, but I am also not a fan of the whole ‘Girl Boss Mantra’ either, so that may be a reason as to why.. Admittedly, I do really like the packaging itself, I think it’s very different looking and the rose gold is very Missguided! I can see this being on a lot of teenagers wishlists this year.. ☺️

  10. I like this scent but only sometimes, it's weird some days I smell it and love it, others I'm like "get that away!" so odd! Goregous packaging though x
