We had a baby!

I thought it was about time I properly introduced you all to our new addition as so many of you have followed us on our journey to becoming parents and welcoming our first son. We've been completely overwhelmed with love, well wishes and congratulations from all of you and it has warmed our hearts. So lets introduce Baby Spake...

Joshua Richard Arran Spake arrived twelve days overdue on the 17th October at 7.50am weighing exactly 9lbs. After a lengthy induction and a traumatic labour, Joshua was delivered via emergency caesarean section.

I'm not sure whether I'm going to share my birth story, I need to write it out for myself to clear it from my head but I'm undecided as to whether I'll hit publish yet. I think it's going to take a couple of months to process it first. We're just glad that both Joshua and I are here safe and sound. He's a little sweetie and while my recovery is taking a bit longer than we thought, we'll be trying to make the most of our time as a three before Arran has to go back to work in mid November.

If you want to keep up to date with Joshua then make sure you follow his own Instagram page which I set up so I'm not baby spamming my own - Baby Spake

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has messaged, been in touch and sent gifts, cards and more. We are all feeling so very, very loved!

  4. PLEASE don't feel pressured into writing your birth story. I went through an incredibly traumatic birth too and almost 4 years later I think I'm *just* coming to terms with it. Be gentle with yourself and take the time *you* need to recover. But OMG WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BABY, and that is what makes all that trauma worth while. Sending you and your partner lots of love, and cuddles for the little one xxxx

It took me a long time to process the birth of Dougie, take your time, it's a private story and a very personal one, just do what you feel comfortable with xxxx
