Win a Trip to Buenos Aires with CAU

Arran and I spent a date night at Cau Restaurant for an evening of delicious food, yummy desserts and the chance to win a trip to Buenos Aires just by ordering some food! We first visited the new Cau Southampton branch back in January and couldn't wait to head back and try some new delights from the summer menu including some Heroes dishes.

Available until 31st August, you'll be able to choose hero dishes from the menu when dining at Cau which will then enable you to enter into the grand prize draw at the end of August to win a return trip for two to Buenos Aires. It's so simple, you just need to order a Hero dish, take a photo and upload to Instagram using the hashtag #BuenosHeroes and tag Cau Restaurants. It is that easy! There is everything to play for this summer at CAU Southampton including weekly spot prizes such as a meal for two, a round of cocktails and a bottle of CAU’s own brand Malbec wine. Have I tempted you yet?

We were greeted with huge smiles and open arms as always and seated before ordering drinks. We have a habit of sticking to what we know but after being talked through the refreshed menu and the hero dishes, we made sure we chose a hero dish for each course with the starters being our favourite!

We chose the Empanadas to start which was a hero dish, Spicy Beef which was yum but not a patch on the Spinach, Ricotta and Date one. We kept talking about them afterwards and very nearly ordered some more to takeaway! We also had the delicious chicken skewers with guacamole. Still thinking about that Spinach and Ricotta though.

For mains, I had Tapa de Cuadril, thinly cut slices of top rump which melts in your mouth alongside thick cut chips and a Hero dish of Causlaw while Arran tried The Ultimate Steak Sandwich with sweet potato fries. Our dishes were perfect, although Arran's was a little too over done but that was soon sorted out. We didn't get to try any of the delicious cocktails as Arran isn't a big drinker and I have a bambino in my belly so we're planning on heading back when the bubba is here so I can have  a much needed cocktail and rare slab of meat.

We did treat ourselves to something sweet though, after seeing the dessert menu we couldn't resist. Arran's sweet tooth was satisfied with the Cornflake Sundae, another hero dish with 20p from every sundae sold going towards a local children's charity. I had to try the Dulce de Leche pancakes topped with ice cream and biscuit. My eyes were bigger than my belly though as I couldn't finish them but they were so delicious! We had such an enjoyable evening and the restaurant was a buzz of laughter and food, if you haven't visited yet, you really must! Get down to CAU Southampton where everyone can be #BuenosHeroes this summer!

Complimentary meal.
