Planning a wedding can be daunting but it can also be a lot of fun. The minute Arran asked me to marry him, my wedding Pinterest boards were on fire and as we're coming up to being engaged for a year, I thought I'd share with you my wedding bible, Rock My Wedding. If you're engaged and don't have this among cake ideas and dress swatches then you're missing out because it is bumper packed full of information, ideas and advice for every bride.
The planning of a wedding can be overwhelming but with the help of RMW's handy tab on their blog, it can be made much easier. From non religious reading ideas, help with stationary and guest posts from real brides, there is so much knowledge available at the click of a button. Inside the book you'll also find tips on questions to ask the venue, recommended suppliers and so much more.
The decor can be just as important as the dress. More and more people are using DIY to bring the cost down and to add a personal touch, something I did with our Engagement Party. There are so many hints and tips on RMW, you'll spend hours searching for ideas. The book talks about helping to find your personal style along with general decor ideas such as ribbons, balloons and lanterns to table wear and lighting. There is not a single thing missed out so grab those crafting scissors!
Choosing a wedding dress isn't as easy as some may think. From styles to cuts, fabrics and so much more, it can be a minefield. I have a very distinct idea in my head but I know that could change when it comes to trying on dresses. RMW talks through each step from where to buy your dress, be it a boutique or direct from the designer to shapes, styles and colours. There is also a fab page full of questions on what to ask regarding your dress, accessories and how to wear your hair.
The Wedding Breakfast
Food is important right? The wedding breakfast is traditionally, a sit down three course meal but times are changing and anything seems to go nowadays. Inside RMW you'll find creative ideas, desserts to drool over and the low down on choosing food you both love. There is also a handy page on seating plans. To seating plan or not is your decision, more and more are throwing out this age old tradition. Think food, think enjoyment and think cake!
The Timeless Wedding
As RMW say, styles and trends come and go so try to keep that in mind. My belief is that your wedding should reflect your sense of style and personality more so than the latest trend and there are some stunning weddings featured. The Real Weddings and Look Book sections on the blog are great for inspiration but only you can make your wedding timeless by making your day, your own.
