What I Got For My Birthday

On new years eve, I turned the ripe old age of 27. It was a age I was kind of dreading but I didn't have a breakdown or cry on my birthday so I feel like it's going okay so far. Everyone always assumes having a December birthday can really suck with it being so close to Christmas but thankfully, my birthday is always just my birthday. Celebrations, presents and cards are always separate which I'm very grateful for. I was incredibly spoilt by my nearest and dearest so I'm going to show you.

Arran completely took me by surprise this year which makes a change as I usually manage to extract any present information from him before my birthday. I have wanted a satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Company ever since I saw the pretty pastel bags in that Google advert. I was quite shocked when I opened the box to find the 11" classic satchel in Oxblood staring back at me, I'm in love with it and so very happy I now own one. He also bought me a MAC Cosmetics lipstick from the Nutcracker collection and a gorgeous pair of Zara pumps which I forgot to photograph. Oops.

My sister, Emily spoilt me too with a new Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Double Dare, a Lush Cosmetics giftset and a Mermaid blanket which I am in love with! My parents kindly popped some money in my birthday card and bought me a portable charger as I'm always borrowing my mums when I go up to London.

From Rachel, Dann & Henry I received a photo frame with my favourite photo of Henry and I in plus a box full of stuff. Inside there was a burgundy bobble hat, fairy lights, a penguin glass and socks plus another Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Vampira. My favourite blogging girls bought me a Thomas Sabo charm in the shape of a penguin as well as the Kat Von D Shadow + Light Contour palette.

I also received some lovely sweet treats from Bill's Restaurants where we went for a birthday brunch, some beautiful flowers from Bloom & Wild and a few gift cards so I could treat myself in the sales. I've been so spoilt and I'm going to have so much fun playing with my new makeup while I'm cosy in my mermaid blanket. I'm forever grateful as always and I can't wait to see what being 27 brings!
