Pumpkin Patch Fun

In my Autumn Bucket List post I said about how I really wanted to visit a pumpkin patch as I'd never been to one before and last weekend I finally did. I've been hunting for a local one in Southampton and it turns out there's one just ten minutes up the road so on a glorious sunny, Sunday morning, that is exactly where we went.

I rang Rachel to tell her of mine and Arran's plans so they also tagged along with us as they live even closer to the farm. We went to Pickwell Farm in Southampton which is a working farm that you can visit to pick your own fruit and veg. Also, in true farm shop fashion it was full to the brim with Yankee Candles. We grabbed a wheelbarrow once we were all together and made our way down to the pumpkin field and it was exactly how I imagined. The first ten minutes were spent taking photos for Instagram.

I want to paint pumkpins a la Pinterest so I had a pretty set idea of what sizes and colours I wanted. I soon found my perfect pumpkins and for £2 each, for any size, they were a bargain too. After we walked all around the pumpkin patch and into the corn fields, we made our back up to the farm shop to buy some baby pumpkins. Arran and I came away with seven pumpkins for just £7.21.

The four of us have decided to make it an annual trip and it'll be even better next year as Henry will be walking by then too.

  2. Pumpkin picking is always so much fun. I absolutely loved it when I was a kid as we grow our own pumpkins. Unfortunately I'm not going to do it this year. xo
