Anastasia Illuminator in Riviera

Being a highlight obsessive, I have lusted after the Anastasia Illuminators for some time so when I found Riviera inside my Best of USA Beauty Box from Beauty Bay I almost peed with excitement. I'd seen so many Instagram posts with this displayed proudly that it was the first thing I grabbed out of the box to look at and I couldn't get my photos done quick enough so I could use it. As you can probably tell from this post, the photos are not of a brand new Riviera because I wanted to use it for a few months before I decided to share it on its own. Turns out I kinda love it and it deserved its own post.

Riviera is a stunning, coppery highlight set in a black, compact with an art deco design. It is truly beautifully and the perfectionist in me wanted to keep the design but the beauty addict in me couldn't wait to dive in. Riviera has an incredible, shimmery finish and even though it's dark to swatch, I can wear it with ease on my pale skintone.

The formula is soft, extremely blendable and doesn't clog or gather in lines or pores. It's also very light to touch and thanks to the pigmentation, a little goes a long way. You don't need to pack the illuminator on to the brush, just use a little swirl and add to skin for a glowing finish. If serious highlight is your thing then just swirl a little more to get intensely highlighted cheekbones.

I haven't stopped using Riviera and I've been toying with buying Peach Nectar after reading some reviews. You can never have enough highlight right?!

Have you tried the Anastasia Illuminators before? What's your favourite shade?

  1. I haven't tried any of these highlighters yet but man this one is such a pretty and unique shade! I don't own anything like it which always grabs my attention with a makeup product, not to mention the imprint they have with that Art Deco pattern is such a beautiful added touch.
