Furnishing your first home is probably the second most exciting thing after picking up the keys and attaching your fancy new keyring. I'm a real homeware lover and will always find something for our home when out shopping. We're currently renting but we opted for unfurnished which meant we could really put our stamp on our first home together.
If I'm not swatching lipsticks in John Lewis then I'm usually on the homeware level or mooching around Next Home. I just can't help myself. We're in desperate need of a new sofa because I have a habit of painting my nails on the cream fabric sofa we currently have and there's a nice red nail varnish mark. I've always wanted a corner sofa because it means I can get right up into the corner, surround myself with cushions and a huge, fluffy blanket and watch Netflix so the Linea Corner Sofa sold at Fishpools is my dream sofa. I'm sure he would love it too but the corner is 100% mine.
I love neutral shades so the fabric in Sweet Marl would be my ideal shade. I'd just have to find somewhere else to paint my nails. With a new sofa it gives me even more of a reason to go out and buy some decorative bits and the geometric cushions from Next Home would be perfect. I also love the abstract tree wall art and brushed gold lamp. We'd just have to find the perfect coffee table so I don't have to reach too far for my hot chocolate.
What is your favourite thing about buying homeware? Where do you like to shop?
