WIN a Rose Gold iPhone SE

Rose Gold has been massive in girl world for some time now and I thought I'd give you a run down of some of my favourite rose gold pieces before giving you the chance to win a rose gold option of your very own in the form of the Rose Gold iPhone SE thanks to!

  • The Rosie for Autograph beauty collection has been a massive hit on the beauty seen. The products are amazing with the lipsticks being some of my faves and the packaging is pretty beautiful too thanks to its rose gold mirrored effect!
  • The Naked 3 has also been dominating the beauty seen for some time, I was bought the Naked 3 as a birthday present when it was first released and I've now hit pan on a number of the shades as it's still one of my most used palettes!
  • One of my most used Rose Gold items is my watch from Abbott & Lyon. I have the blue suede and rose gold watch. The perfect accessories for most outfits!
  • Another favourite accessory is my necklace, bracelet and earring set from Lily & Rose. The smoky mauve stones are set in a rose gold pendant delicately hung from each piece of jewellery.
  • Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have to be the most iconic lipstick in rose gold packaging. I really love the shade Bitch Perfect and also had Glastonberry too.
  • The Zoeva Rose Gold brush collection is a thing of beauty and something that always draws in a lot of interest. The rose gold pouch the brushes come with is really cute too!
  • Quay Australia is my go to for sunglasses and the All My Love Cat Eyes in Rose Gold are one of my favourite pairs at the moment. If you're heading to Ibiza then you need these!
  • Finally, if you're looking for a pretty phone case to go with your new iPhone SE then look no further than Skinny Dip. They sell some of the best cases on the market and you could get more rose gold to go with your new rose gold phone!

Upcycled Suitcase for Engagement Cards

I've been pinning wedding ideas on my Pinterest page for the last few years, doesn't everybody?! Now the time has come for me to finally make those ideas a reality and I've absolutely loved visiting craft shops the last few months to buy all my supplies. I've tried to craft as many as our decorations as possible with the suitcase being one of my favourites to do.

DHC Rich Eye Zone

DHC Skincare is a beauty brand I've come to love and use frequently in my skincare regime this year, it started with the Beauty Lift range and has continued with my latest post being about the DHC Rich Eye Zone care park. One of their new arrivals, the Rich Eye Zone care pack concentrates on that area we all start to worrying about as we keep hitting those larger age numbers.

Designed to treat the entire eye area, the pack does this by using powerful yet gentle multipeptides to support collagen. Advised for use twice a week, the masks help with fine lines, puffiness and elasticity as it contains antioxidant rich olive oil fruit which hydrates and hyaluronic acid to protect the skin's natural moisture barrier. Retailing at £15, each pack comes with six sets of two masks which are placed together in pairs, in short each pack will last you three weeks. I've used my pack throughout July, thankfully I don't have very obvious fine lines or puffiness but the lines I do have seem reduced and firmer.

DHC Skincare are renowned for their skin busting products that actually deliver results at a much better price than most commonly know brands on the market. I love how easy to use the eye masks are and I'll be continuing to use them for the foreseeable future! Age will get you like that unfortunately.

Have you tried any DHC products before? What's your favourite?

Benzo Bar & Kitchen in Southampton

Southampton is full of fun restaurants and quirky bistros, but there's always one that comes along and blows everyone else out of the water and that is exactly what Benzo did when my best friend and I went to try out the newest place to be in Southampton. Benzo opened half way through July in Bedford Place, Southampton. A beautiful bar & kitchen with a bar area, restaurant and good sized back terrace done out in sophisticated grey and white with wooden tables and tall leather chairs. You'll be wanting to photograph the interior before anything else.

Lavender Fields

I received a message from one of my best friends a few weeks back saying we were going to some place called the Lavender Fields because it would make awesome Instagram photos and I didn't have a choice. Fast forward to July 10th and the three of us piled into the car on a very early Sunday morning and made the drive to Alton, Hampshire for a day of fun, sun and of course coffee.

A Little Chat...

I haven't written a chatty post in quite sometime and with the excitement of getting engaged and planning our engagement party I thought it was about time to sit down and write something because in some ways my little old blog will change a bit over the next few years. As with everything and everyone, people grow up, things change and you enter into new chapters of life and I feel like it's only right I reflect that on Annie Writes Beauty.

Crystal Clear Cleansing Brush

I started using cleansing brushes a few years ago when I first began Annie Writes Beauty, I was so impressed with the results from my skin that I always have one to hand. I've always kept to traditional cleansing brushes but after discovering Ionic Sonic Cleanse by Crystal Clear, I'm swaying away. Ionic Sonic Cleanse is a cleansing brush with a difference, unlike most on the market, Crystal Clears offering is designed with silicone bristles for a deeper cleanse and exfoliation leaving your complexion smooth, bright and radiant. It's small, compact and works for the face or body.

The Ionic Sonic Cleansing brush works by combining negative ions and ultra sonic action. Scientific reports confirm that we feel refreshed after being around negative ions found in places such as waterfalls or forests so just think of the benefits that could make to your skin regime? The brush is suitable for everyday use and for all skin types, I use it morning and evening alongside the Crystal Clear Soothing Cleansing Gel which leaves my skin feeling really clean and fresh.

Thanks to the silicone bristles the brush feels less abrasive to skin but still delivers a thorough cleanse, almost like a microdermabrasion effect so don't let the soft bristles fool you, they really do work. The brush has three levels, one for body exfoliation and firming, two for normal skin and three for sensitive skin and as you press the button the brush will beep to alert you as to which level you are on.

I've been using my brush daily for the last eight weeks alongside the products I received in the Ionic Sonic Cleanse pack. My complexion is clearer, my skin softer and more radiant and my brush is still looking as good as new. Inside the pack you'll also find a booklet on all you need to know about the brush, the at home treatments you can do and how to get the most out of the brush for your body. Before using this I would say to anyone to invest in a cleansing brush but even more so after trying this one, especially as you can pick the pack I have up for £69.99 which includes some of their products. My skin has never looked so good.

Have you tried cleansing brushes before? What do you use?

Why I'm Learning to Drive

Throwing out another chatty post today and this time it's not a rant or moan, just a little chat about something I've been meaning to do for a very long time, learn to drive. Back when I was a mere pup my plan was always to learn to drive when I hit seventeen but that all changed when I moved to Spain. In Spain, you have to be eighteen to drive and as everything was quite easily accessible I never started it. My Spanish was also not that good enough to take the whole test in another language and learning in English was pricey so I just put it off. Fast forward ten years and I'm coming up twenty seven and I still don't drive and I'm really starting to regret it.

Since getting engaged my views on driving have completely changed before I was always like meh it doesn't really matter but now if I have to go and collect something or travel further for any bits we want for the wedding, I kinda need to be driving. Especially when it comes to the day before and need to drop decorations off ready for the big day. So with that in mind, I've got two years to get my act together, order my provisional which I don't have either and finally get looking into it properly.

I've been looking to Book Learn Pass for advice because I do not have the foggiest idea about where to go and with them having an office in Southampton it was a no brainer. I've also found their website really handy to navigate for information too. With being much older now I've also looked for booking in for an Intensive Driving Course as I just feel it would be better suited for me. First stop is the provisional after all and after one of the most daunting experiences of my life I'll hopefully be driving along with the wind in my hair and funky house playing in the back ground.

How old were you when you passed? What are your most memorable driving experiences?

The New Tokyo Box by Boomf

I'm always looking for new and fun ways to send gifts to my friends and family and one company I turn to a lot is Boomf with their personalised marshmallow boxes. I'd love to receive my own marshmallow box one day as I think they're so fun and original plus they always put a smile on someone's face whether it's for a birthday, congratulations or just to cheer someone up.

Boomf have recently introduced the Tokyo Box which I had posted to me recently just in time for my afternoon tea break and I loved it. There is always something special about having something personalised sent to you and Boomf really cheered me up at a time I needed it most.

The Tokyo Box is a gift you can personalise with your own photos and quirky pics, you also have the space to write your own message inside for the person receiving the gift as well as an option of what gift to be enclosed. I had a teabag from my favourite tea makers at Teapigs and a lovely biscuit with Arran and mine's faces on! I was even kind enough to cut in half so he could try some. The box is so easy to create and something I'll definitely be getting for my faves!

Have you used Boomf before? What is your favourite product to buy?

Beauty Shopping with Ideal World

When Ideal World first got in touch I was a bit like eh? I'd heard of them previously due to late nights watching shopping channels but I always assumed they were mainly home and garden based. Turns out they are a treasure chest full of beauty products ranging from skincare, makeup, tanning and so much more. Ideal World are house to an incredible range of products and genres, if you can think of it they probably have it and with that comes the beauty section where I was able to have a little taster thanks to the bloggers beauty box that landed in my hands a few weeks ago.

I had a real mix of products sent to me including some of Elizabeth Grant's most sought after products, He-Shi 1 hour rapid tan and Steve Whatley's Zhuzh tan accelerator. Over the last month I've introduced the products into my beauty routine and since looking again on Ideal World I've come up with quite the wishlist. Once a beauty blogger, always a beauty blogger.

Elizabeth Grant's Skincare was the main focus in my bloggers box with a range to try out. Elizabeth Grant specialises in premium skincare with her added special ingredient which is a mixture of natural sea vitamins, nutrients and minerals. I've been using the day and night serum both of which comes in beautiful, clear packaging making them look and feel expensive. Alongside them I've used the Elizabeth Grant Wonder Effect mask for when I've had a spare evening for a pamper and the Collagen Re-Inforce Tinted Moisturiser during the day which I love as it leaves me looking so fresh faced. Having never

I haven't had the chance to try out the Steve Whatley's Zhuzh tan accelerator yet as I'm not much of a tanner unless it's fake but I have the perfect friend who still (naughtily) uses tanning beds and I'm sure will love it so I can get some feedback from her. The He-Shi 1 Hour rapid tan however has made its way swiftly into the tan box. I was excited to see this as I've read a lot of fab reviews on this and I'm holding tight for a spare second to do some serious tan prep before trying, it may have to be the tan of choice for our engagement party!

You cannot purchase a beauty box like I have but you can purchase all the products individually on Ideal World or via the shopping channel when available. (Sky 654, Freeview 22, Virgin 747 & Freesat 812) which if you purchase enough you can make your very own box at home!

Tom Ford Spanish Pink

I've had my beauty eye on Tom Ford for a very long time but have never quite been able to justify the price but with our engagement party coming around very quickly, I wanted something special to wear on the night that I'd always remember. After a browse on House of Fraser's website I kept going back to Tom Ford, finally settling on Spanish Pink as the lipstick name and colour reminded me of living in Spain.

Tom Ford Beauty has such a luxurious feel to it, the packaging is beautiful with each lipstick embossed with the Tom Ford Logo, almost making you not want to use it so as not to ruin the tip. There is a soft fragrance to the lipstick thanks to the exotic ingredients used to create each lip colour. Soja seed extract, Brazilian Murumuru butter and chamolilla flower oil keep lips conditioned during wear and make the formula creamy and effortless to apply.

Spanish Pink is a light, pink-peach shade with the most subtle touch of sparkle. When I first removed the cap I had a moment of doubt that it would be too peachy for me and with a slightly heavy heart I applied it to my lips. Turns out I had nothing to worry about because it is B-E-A-utiful. The texture is creamy, moisturising and it doesn't highlight a single flake of my drier than usual lips. It's quite opaque so it does show lip lines more so than I'd like but after a swipe or two of colour, they're barely noticeable and the love I have for the shade overrides any doubts.

Due to its creamy texture it doesn't last as long as I'd like, I've had about four to five hours wear time before having to reapply with Spanish Pink but I don't mind whipping out the super luxe lipstick to reapply because it's kinda stunning! Considering I'm a matte lip girl, I've surprised myself with how much I love it, so much so that I'm trying to convince myself not to buy Naked Coral.

Have you tried Tom Ford Lip Colours before? What's your favourite shade?

Keeping the Holiday Glow

Coming back from Spain with a subtle tan definitely put a smile on my face, I always find I look healthier and more put together with a sunshine glow so to keep it topped up I've been using Vita Liberata's latest product, Marula* the world's first self tanning oil to provide protection against harmful UVA and UBV rays.

The luxury tan specialists have created something pretty spectacular, a dry oil self tan with a SPF 50. It's a 3 in 1 gradual build tan that gives a beautiful bronze glow to the skin, their founder, Alyson Hogg has said "I made Marula Dry Oil Tan with SPF 50 so that you could lavish your skin in luxurious dry oils, have high protection from sun exposure and meanwhile develop a natural glowing tan that is both buildable and long lasting". There is nothing worst than adding an SPF onto a glowing spray tan and with this you get the best of both worlds while having the fresh scent of lemongrass.

Marula contains a number of organic ingredients to really give skin a treat and with anti ageing and hydration benefits thanks to it being more hydrating than Argan Oil, it really does leave your skin feeling exceptionally nourished. I use dry oils quite regularly as I love the way they make my skin feel so I managed to get on with this easily. Marula soaks into the skin incredibly easy and it's fast becoming a product I reach for a lot. I don't suffer with dry skin but I can see this being such a fab product for anyone that does as it's so soothing and nourishing.

Aimed to last for ten days, I managed to get just over that thanks to already being a little tanned and continuing to get my legs out thanks to the glorious sunshine we've been having. Vita Liberata really do have a fabulous product in Marula and I can see it featuring in many favourite posts and videos in the near future!

Have you tried Vita Liberata Marula oil yet? What did you think?

We're Engaged!

So something pretty special happened in June, which many of you would've seen on my social media but because I'm so happy and excited I also wanted to share it on here. After four years together, My one and only dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife and through tears and me exclaiming "Are you serious?!" I somehow managed to say yes and then continued to cry happy tears.

Never Ending Summer by Birchbox

Millie Macintosh was always one of my faves from Made in Chelsea so when I saw she was doing a special collaboration with Birchbox in July I couldn't wait to get my box. I've been having the odd moan the last couple of months because my boxes have been so samey so it was great to open up this months and see something new and exciting. The theme for this month centers around Never Ending Summer, trying to keep hold of those summer vibes for as long as possible and thanks to this box, we'll all be doing so by looking pretty amazing too.

Hydraluron kicks off some serious skincare pamper this month thanks to the Moisture Boosting Mask aimed to quench your skins thirst leaving it feeling well nourished and full of life. The Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water is the perfect lotion to use pre-mask to completely cleanse your face of any dirt and grime; With it's refreshing scent of orange, lemon blossom, watermelon and mint, it's a fab product to use to awaken your skin in the morning too.

Once your skin is in check and looking fabulous just apply a slick of the full sized limited edition LOC Millie shade in Bohemian Rose which is a pretty pink, aimed to suit everyone. The high shine lip crayon is promised to last all day long so it's something that will take you from beach to bar. With your lips looking on point, it's only right for your nails to look spectacular too and I'll be painting mine with the shade Oxford Street which I think reflects Millie perfectly.

The other full sized product from this months box is from my favourite guys over at John Freida. There were two different products, with the Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Primer landing in my box. I couldn't think of a product any more needed in a Summer beauty box. My hair goes a bit mad when on holiday thanks to the sun, sea and swimming pools. Its fancy inside out formula helps fight frizz making sure you look smooth and put together all day long. As you can probably tell, I'm a fan of this months box, it's so good to see some different brands being giving some light. Let's hope next months box follows suit too!

What did you think of this months products & collaboration?

The New Man in My Life

If I'm out and about more often than not I'll grab a smoothie or juice on my travels so a few years ago I invested in a juicer and I hated it. It was so noisy, it was a pain to clean and it's been sat in a cupboard for the last two years. Fast forward to the new man in my life which comes in the form of the Panasonic MJ-L500 slow juicer* and is sat proudly in my kitchen.

Last weekend I held a juicing party with the slow juicer being the main show. After a quick food shop to stock up on all the essentials and with bunting hung we were ready to get to work. The Panasonic Slow Juicer has a motor which reduces to just 45 spins per minute, paired with a low speed motor and special juicing screw with a reinforced stainless steel tip. Commonly known as cold pressing, it's this process but with the easiness of an appliance in your kitchen instead of squashing by hand.

It's quick, easy to use and the best bit? It's not as loud as my last juicer which means I can make a smoothie before work in the morning without the worry of waking anyone up. Thanks to it being a slow juicer, it squeezes everything out of what you put in it meaning extra nutrients plus less waste or mess! It comes with a measured jug for your juice, a jug for any pulp, a brush to clean and get rid of any pulp and the attachments to making some frozen treats too! The frozen attachment processes frozen food making it even easier to make sorbets, yogurts or a frozen Margarita. The list is endless.

Set up of the MJ-L500 was quick and thanks to the grips at the base of the juicer it doesn't move during use. It looks super slick in my kitchen and with it being slim it doesn't take up much counter space either. The plug lead is long too so there's not a worry with having to stretch it to a plug socket. As there are so many parts, I was dreading cleaning it but every part came apart with ease, washed really well and assembled back together even easier. My only gripe is that it's pretty heavy to move around so I'm trying to keep it in one location at the moment and not move it in case I drop it.

If you're in the market for a new juicer then look no further than Panasonic and do not let the 'slow' bit put you off because it is anything but! The next few months I'll be experimenting with new smoothies, juicers and frozen everything recipes and I may share some on here too, if I get a chance to use it again has the other half as fallen in love with the stainless steel machine as much as I have. Available via Amazon with free delivery, you almost have to buy it, think of it as an early Christmas present!

Do you like juicing at home? What are your favourite recipes?

Summer Time Pampering

When it comes to Summer time I'm all about making sure my body is in tip top condition and no I don't mean by a healthy diet, I mean by making my feet flip flop ready, my body smooth and well nourished with a wax and a really good moisturiser because that's how I feel more confident in the sun. Brodie & Stone have been on my radar since discovering them at the Blogger's Festival organised by Scarlett London last summer and inside our incredible goody bags were some of their favourite products which have firmly become my own the last year.

The Macadamia Oil Ultra Nourishing range from Natural World has been in my beauty cupboards for some time, I swear by the oil treatment and the Ultra Nourishing Hair Mask has also been a god send as my hair is in dire need of some nourishment. Thanks to its formula, it leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny as well as giving a beautiful soft fragrance that lingers after every swish. The range is infused with macadamia oil and five essential oils giving hair the ultimate treatment.

Once my hair is in check my next mission is make my skin super smooth by removing the hair I don't want. Smooth Appeal are a collection of products that give effective hair removal as well as leaving your skin smooth and calm thanks to the added Aloe Vera and Tea Tree. Smooth Appeal products are easy to use thanks to the microwave formula, just pop them in the microwave on high for 20 seconds and you're ready to go once allowing the pot to cool for five minutes. To make sure it's 100% ready, test on a small patch on your wrist, if it's a comfortable temperature then you're on your way to super smooth skin. The packs come with waxing strips that you apply after the wax and pull in the direction of hair growth. It's simple, easy to use and the results are fab and a lot cheaper than a salon.

Lastly it's all about those feet, I know feet gross some people out but I'd rather have mine in perfect condition and do some work with them after hiding them away during the winter months especially as I have my fancy pom pom sandals for them. Newtons Foot Therapy are all about looking after hands and feet. I've been using the Chiropody Sponge which helps with hard skin, corns and calluses alongside the Intensive Foot Cream which deeply refreshes your feet thanks to the ingredients of tea tree, spearmint and cocoa butter. If you like minty fragrances, you'll love the foot cream, it reminds me of After Eights just be sure not to eat it!

If you're interested in any of the above products then make sure you check out Brodie & Stone, they're lovely and helpful on Twitter too so if you have any questions I'm sure they'd be happy to answer them! Have you used any of the products I've mentioned above?
