February Birchbox Unboxing

As some of you probably gathered from January's Birchbox review, I was pretty disappointed. I wanted to love it and I didn't so I sat patiently waiting for the February Birchbox box* to drop hoping Birchbox would've pulled it back out the bag and for me, they 100% did. This month's box is all about positive vibes. The box is printed with the quote Shine bright like a diamond which is also a little clue about a collab with Vashi as one lucky subscriber will find a diamond necklace worth £200. If you're not the lucky subscriber then there is a competition in the booklet to also win something sparkly!

With the diamond talk over I better get on with what I thought of this month's samples and I can confirm I'm much happier with my lot this time around. There are products from The Balm, Spectrum Collections, Ole Henriksen and LOC, Birchbox's first in house make up brand. I was thrilled with my tapered powder brush from Spectrum as I've been wanting to try their brushes for what feels like forever. The brush is super soft, light and perfect for setting powder, highlighters and bronzer. The pink, turqouise and purple design also scores 10/10 from me.

The Balm is a brand I've used for a few years now and their bronzer and highlighters are my daily go tos, Frat Boy is a perfectly peachy blush, ideal for the apples of your cheeks. You can even use your new Spectrum brush to apply. The other make up piece this month is by LOC, as I said above LOC is the first in house brand for Birchbox and the full size product is a shadow stick which delivers eleven hours of creaseless, waterproof colour. I have the shade Perfect Cents, a coppery metallic pencil which makes my blue eyes pop. When blended across the eyelid, it looks beautiful and the wear time is pretty fab as promised.

The final two pieces are some skin care treats. The Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia is bursting with shea butter, vitamin e and antioxidants making skin soft. Jasmine, lavender and ylang-ylang also hydrate the skin while giving off a soothing aroma, perfect for use before bed. Lastly is my old favourite, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. This stuff is amazing and worth every pound. This is loaded with high powered vitamin c complex to help smooth fine lines, plump skin and also give it a little protection. I've gone through one of these before and would fully recommend you try it for yourself. I didn't buy into the hype at first but I'm so glad I finally caved.

What do you think of the February Birchbox?
