The Artisan in Southampton

I recently went along to the re-opening of The Artisan with some of the girls from the Sotonbloggers network for an evening of music, nibbles and Gordon Ramsay. The Artisan is located in Guildhall Square in Southampton, adjoined to Solent University in the Culture Quarter. I remember The Artisan being cream, green and very much like a school cafeteria so it's new look is a massive improvement. It's almost like stepping into a Paris Cafe with waiters in waistcoats, patisseries lining the shelves and dark, quirky art work along the walls.

We were welcomed with prosecco before being shown around the coffee house. Gordon Ramsay (his lookalike anyway...) was busy networking, talking about all things food and serving us all some yummy samples from the menu without the F word muttered once.

If you're a coffee lover like myself then their speciality coffee menu is just what you're looking for. We tried five from the menu including the Italian Affogato, London Fog and Caramel Macchiato. Each as coffeelicious as the next and I went straight back in there the following morning to pick up a London Fog on my way to work.

The whole night played out with the Still Moving DJs in the background which gave the whole night a different vibe, I wish I could explain the type of music they play, but I can't.. Just trust me that they're awesome and if you're around Southampton make sure you check out their dates at Talking Heads in October. Before we knew it, two hours had passed and it was time to go. I had the loveliest evening at The Artisan and I can't wait to plan some lunch dates with the girls there so we can really sample the new menu.... and of course cake!
