Battle of the Highstreet Dry Shampoo

Dry Shampoo is something I always have on my dresser and I always have back up in a drawer somewhere too. I just hate washing my hair so for girl like me dry shampoo is your best friend. I've used Batiste for a number of years, it's the original dry shampoo and a brand the majority think of first. They have such a wide range now from volume pumping, hair colour specific cans and their old classic, original which is my favourite. I know a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with Batiste but it will always be one of love to me.

I have tried branching out in the last year, firstly with VO5 Refresh Me Quick. After they had their rebrand and everything went pink, I picked up a can from Superdrug to try out. The only good thing about this particular one is the smell, it doesn't refresh and it doesn't perk up dull hair, a really disappointing product. Aussie Colour Mate was another new try, I love Aussie products so I was expecting this to do exactly what it says on the can. This, again smelt really nice but didn't do much at all and I found however much I used, it would just go really powdery and make my hair look awful so that I'd have to wash it anyway.

Lastly is CoLab London by A Model Recommends. The scent of this is light and sophisticated, I found the four other variations to be quite sweet smelling which I don't like although none of the scents are bad. This has a sheer invisible formula meaning no dusty hair and it just gives my hair the volume and freshness it needs on ahem day four hair. I really like this and have just finished my can of it. I'll be picking up another this week which to me means I'm on to a winner.

What is your go to dry shampoo product?

  1. This was really interesting to read. I've got a can of Batiste dry shampoo, but I hardly ever use it -- it's mostly for emergencies! I used to have a can of Toni & Guy dry shampoo that I got in a discounted value pack of hair products, but it tended to just make me feel like I had to wash my hair more than normal. We can't get Aussie or CoLab here, but I've seen the VO5 one on supermarkets -- looks like I won't be trying it out, though!

  2. Until picking up the Colab Rio Dry Shampoo the other week, I had always stuck to Tresemme Instant Refresh, which I've never been very happy with but thought as Tresemme is one of the leading brands, it must be top quality, I think I may try out Batiste as well though as that's seen as the number one, I'm loving the Colab spray though! x

  3. I really wish I could get my hands on the CoLab spray as I've read several good reviews about it. I always have a can of Batiste in my apartment somewhere but I do dislike the residue it leaves in your hair and with me having dark hair, it is really noticeable! Great review xxx

  4. I really want to try the CoLab ones! I've only tried Batiste which works but it leaves my hair feeling dusty and I'm getting bored of the scents. Nice little review of each, thanks!

  7. I seriously don't know what I'm doing wrong with the Colab one, it just doesn't do anything for my hair even if I use it when my hair isn't that greasy. I do love the scent of the London one.
I think I'll be sticking with the Batiste for a long time :)

  8. Agreed on the V05 dry shampoo I'll be honest I struggle with dry shampoos as the ones that are invisible in the hair do nothing in terms of refreshing greasy hair whereas powder ones really soak everything up. I regularly repurchase Batiste although I think on my next purchase I might Colab :) xx
