An Introduction to JorgObé

Not so long ago my sister introduced me to a Danish skin care company called JorgObé. I had never heard of them before so I was really intrigued to see what they did differently. Launched in 2010 with a clear idea of creating skin care for men and woman while using natural and active ingredients, JorgObé has become a best selling skin care brand, winning numerous awards and has been praised in international beauty magazines such as Elle.

There are three products, Peel Off Mask*Scrub Mask* and White Tea Balancing Cream*. It's white and black packaging makes it sleek and expensive looking. Exactly how I like my products. The products are produced in Denmark without using harmful parabens, mineral oils, silicone, colours and paraffin. It's good stuff.

The Peel Off Mask was their original product, sold first in small bags to test the market these quickly sold out and I can 100% see why. I've used this the last few weeks, twice a week. It binds to clogged pores and dead skin cells which are then pulled away when the mask is peeled off. Containing black kaolin clay which reduces and cleanses clogged pores. All you need is a thick layer applied to your T-zone, leave it until it is completely dry then peel off. I noticed a difference after just one use and now I've used it more I can really see a difference. My pores are flawless, my skin is soft and I haven't noticed as much 3 O'clock shine as usual. Plus a peel off mask is oh so satisfying to take off.

The White Tea Balancing Cream comes in a white, pump action bottle. It's nourishing and is developed to regulated your skin type. Containing White Tea, Jojoba, Oats, Argan Oil and Rosemary it soaks into the skin without leaving a tacky feeling. It smells fresh, not too fragranced and leaves the perfect canvas to apply make up.

Their third product, the Scrub Mask is my favourite out of the three. A 2 in 1 cleanser that works as a deep cleansing face mask and a refreshing scrub cream. With Black Jojoba beads that leave you feeling rejuvenated and menthol to cool, among other ingredients, I find that this is the perfect cream to really give your skin some TLC. Quick wipe of a toner after using the mask and a pump of the White Tea Balancing Cream and your skin won't know what's hit it.

You can purchase JorgObé online by clicking on the links above and if you visit you can read their full story and reviews from thousands of their fans across Europe.

Facetheory Skincare

For You Skincare messaged me a month or so ago asking if I wanted to test some of their skincare and as I now take notice to what I'm using on my skin I said yes straight away. I was sent the Exfoliator E1*, a salicylic acid exfoliator for oily to combination skin. Even before I had a good skin care routine, an exfoliator was the one product I would always use.

The consistency of this reminds me of Greek Yoghurt; Not too thick, slightly runny and really easy to move across the skin and you don't need to use much either. The granules aren't too abrasive which is perfect for an exfoliator you can use daily and it leaves my skin feeling soft, brighter and so clean. I'm going to be sad when my little pot is empty.

Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black

Black toothpaste, sounds weird right? That's what I thought and also why I said yes to an email to review it. Especially as it's Halloween in a few days. Eek. Beverley Hills Formula are well know in the teeth world for perfecting that bright, white smile. The Beverly Hill Formula Perfect White Black* toothpaste is their new revolutionary whitening toothpaste and I love it! The secret ingredient is activated charcoal, which is the safest and most effective way to whiter teeth without bleach.

With a love of Tannins, those pesky compounds found in coffee, tea, wine, berries and spices, the activated charcoal helps remove them from the surface of your teeth. It also eliminates bacteria and bad breath so you're smelling fresh all day long. The toothpaste is a fresh mint flavour, which I was a little surprised by how nice it actually was. I also really wish I had taken before and after photos of my teeth because I really have noticed a difference. My whole mouth in general just seems fresher. Black toothpaste convert over here guys!

Perfect White Black comes in 100ml and 125ml tubes and is available from Superdrug, Boots and most chemists.

Sparkly Pumpkin // Lush Cosmetics

Lush Cosmetics and Halloween are probably two of my favourite things, so when you throw a sparkly pumpkin into the mix, I am one happy girl! Bubble bars are the products I love the most from Lush and I bought the Sparkly Pumpkin when I attended the Christmas Launch at Lush Portsmouth the beginning of the month. Covered in golden lustre with a stick of cinnamon as the stalk it has Autumn written all over it.

Filled with juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oils this makes for the most soothing of baths. You get plenty of bubbles from half a pumpkin, leaving the bath with a burst of orange colour and waves of gold. You could probably get four baths out of one pumpkin but I go a bit bubble mad so I used half. It also left my skin feeling silky smooth. I'll be stocking up before they're all gone at the end of the week.

The Sunday Sessions

Sundays are probably my favourite day of the week. It is the one day where no one expects you to get up, let alone get out of your pajamas, oh and it is also the day of food. Sundays for me consist of cosy penguin pajamas, my slipper booties* from Bedroom Athletics, a box set and a naughty bar of Oreo Dairy Milk. My new Jessica boots are my favourite thing right now especially as it is getting colder. The base of them is really bouncy, like you're walking on air and there is also a zip at the front so if your feet are getting too cosy just pull down that zip and let some air in. Bedroom Athletics have so many different designs on their website, I just want them all. They also do lounge wear which I can't wait to order either!

Bubble T // Hand Care

I posted about Bubble T - The Bath Products a few days ago; A fun, quirky set of products by a company called Bubble T Cosmetics. Today I am posting about their hand creams. Tubes of nourishing goodness with restoring, stimulating and reviving qualities. Again there are three variations, Hibiscus & Acai Berry Tea*, Lemongrass & Green Tea* and Moroccan Mint Tea*.

Moroccan Mint Tea sits happily on my bedside table so I remember to use it every night. I also have the Lemongrass & Green Tea in my bag. The 100ml tubes are just £5 and the perfect handbag size. These hand creams are extremely nourishing, non sticky and soak in the skin effortlessly. Bubble T Cosmetics have really hit the mark with their products, fab smelling and awesome quality. Plus they look pretty cool on your dresser. Soap & Glory's Hand Food has some serious competition.

Paprika // Barry M Cosmetics

When I started doing my On The Nails series my intention wasn't for it to be a Barry M nail polish most weeks. Barry M seems to be all I wear on my nails so here is another polish and another Gelly Hi-Shine, my favourite formula. Paprika is from their new line, a rusty orange perfect for Autumn. An easy applied two coats and you have the perfect opaque colour that dries so quickly. I don't have anything like Paprika in my collection and it's not a colour I've come across by different brands either. I love wearing something different on my nails and Paprika has definitely hit that note.

Bubble T // The Bath Products

I've followed Bubble T Bath & Body on Twitter for a while now and loved how fun and original their products were. The website and the design of the products draw you in and let's face it, we all like pretty looking products to display in our bathrooms. Inspired by the popular Taiwanese drink invented in the 1980's, Bubble T is tea blended with a fruit of your choice with tapioca balls, the unusual twist to the drink. There are three blends available, Revive - Moroccan Mint Tea, Stimulate - Lemongrass & Green Tea and Restore - Hibiscus & Acai Berry Tea.

I have Hibiscus & Acai Berry Restoring Shower Gel*, Lemongrass & Green Tea Stimulating Shower Gel* and Lemongrass & Green Tea Powdered Bath Spice*. Both the shower gels are huge, which I love. They dispense really easily with a push down cap so no need to shake about and squeeze extra hard to get the product out.
I found the Hibiscus & Acai Berry scent too sweet but that's because I love really bitter, zesty scents so if sweet is your cup of tea, you will love it.
The Lemongrass & Green Tea is my favourite! It's perfect for that morning shower, the scent instantly wakes you up and it's incredibly refreshing. Both shower gels contain little micro beads to get deeper into the skin, making you feel even cleaner.

The Lemongrass & Green Tea powdered bath spice is meant to add a deeper infusion to your bath, leaving a stimulant fragrance in the air. I found this a little boring, the scent was lovely again but I was just essentially sprinkling powder in my bath and not getting much from it. Lush has spoiled me too much with their colour changing, bubble making bombs.

Bubble T has just gone into Holland & Barrett and you can buy online from their own website if you fancy trying them out yourself. Something I would highly recommend you do.

Make Up Revolution // Autumn Shadows

I'm going to assume you're familiar with Make Up Revolution, the budget make up brand taking the beauty world by storm. If not, where have you been? They are going into Superdrug stores at a rapid rate which was how I found myself swatching to my hearts content a few weeks ago. I bought some of the single mono eyeshadows as I have palettes coming out of my ears. The three shades I bought were Eden, I Need You and Insomnia.

Eden is an emerald green, a shade I've never really used before, I'm a huge neutrals fan but for just £1.. Why not step out of the comfort zone? Which is why I also bought Insomnia, a rich, plum shadow. I Need You was the final shade, sticking to my neutral roots with a dark, earthy brown. All the shadows have exceptional pigmentation, barely any fall out and blending them is so easy. They leave your lids with gorgeous, jewel toned colour. Perfect for the colder months and the Christmas party season.

Bronzed Skin with Cocoa Brown

Yesterday you might of seen my post on Cocoa Brown's answer to the perfect tan prep so today I have the scrub you need in your life and the most natural high street tan I've ever used.
As I said yesterday Cocoa Brown has been getting a lot of hype on Twitter and various blogs so of course I had to try them out. Hot pink, girly and said to leave you beautifully bronzed, it's the perfect budget tan.

I started using Chocolate Whip* and Tough Stuff* a few days before wanting to tan so my skin was in tip tip condition. Tough Stuff is a 3 in 1 body scrub aimed to prepare skin for tan and remove stubborn old tan while leaving your skin soft and smooth. It is a runny, pink liquid full of tiny little granules that give a really intense exfoliation, rough elbows and knees are no more.

I applied the 1 Hour Instant Tan* using a Cocoa Brown Tanning Mitt*. I really didn't like the mitt, the tan soaked straight through, I'm so glad I had already put on latex gloves otherwise I would of had major tan hands. The tan itself applied really well, it was easy to blend in and didn't gather around my elbows and knees ( Thanks Tough Stuff!). Leave on for one hour for a light glow, two hours for a medium tan and three hours if you prefer a darker tan. I left it on for just one hour and washed it off because I didn't want to over do it. It left a subtle glow which looked fab but I wanted more so I reapplied again the following night for a more golden tan.

I was really impressed with Cocoa Brown, I did think it may just be another high street tan but in the week I was wearing it, it didn't go patchy or orange and I was told I looked glowing. There was still a subtle fake tan smell, which the other half did comment on but the overall results are worth smelling a like a digestive.

Cocoa Brown // Chocolate Whip

I've been embracing the pale so to speak for a while now and the fake tan had been firmly tucked away until recently. I had seen a lot of hype on Twitter surrounding Cocoa Brown, the number one selling tanning range in the UK, so I had to check them out and reintroduce a golden glow to my life. As last week was Chocolate Week it was only right to get myself tan ready with some Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip body moisturiser*

Oil-free, full of Vitamin E and smelling like chocolate; It is the perfect pre-tan moisturiser. Aimed to revive tired, dull skin, I used this in the days leading up to tanning and the days following to keep my skin soft and to stop any patchiness. Chocolate Whip also leaves no stickiness so you don't have to flap about waiting for it to dry which is a big pet hate of mine. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Available online and in various high street stores such as Primark and Superdrug, I would definitely recommend you pick up a tube of Chocolate Whip next time you're going to get your tan on.

I recently attended the re-launch of Re:So situated in the Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton. Launched in 2012, the award-winning Re:So Project was the first fully student-operated retail initiative in a UK shopping centre. Re:So has been relocated to a much larger, clean cut and contemporary space above Starbucks. Perfect for die hard fashion fans with an edge.

Bare Minerals Bare Guide to Color Warm

I've always been pretty dubious when it comes to mineral make up, sure it sounds great but I like a full coverage and I couldn't see how extra dustings of powder could give me that. I thought the best way to ease myself into mineral make up was with the Bare Minerals Bare Guide to Color in Warm* kit which came with -

  • Prime TimeTM Brightening Eyelid Primer (luminous golden sheen), size 3ml
  • Zany Eyecolour (soft tarnished, olive gold), size 0.57g
  • Round the ClockTM Waterproof Eyeliner in 10 PM (burnished mocha), size 1.2g
  • Exquisite Radiance All-Over Face Colour, size 0.57g
  • Mini Natural Lipgloss in Apricot Nectar, size 2.5ml
  • Double-Ended Precision Eye & Cheek Brush

When this arrived from the fabulous guys over at Treat Your Skin I couldn't wait to (carefully) rip the box open and wait patiently for good lighting to get some photos before I started buffing some colour into my cheeks. I did the make up look using my Estēe Lauder Double Wear, Real Technique brushes and a Rimmel mascara. Everything else was done using the Bare Minerals kit.

Once I had finished my base I used the illuminating primer on my eye lids and the crease before patting on the eye colour. Zany is such a beautiful shade, Olive green then a soft gold depending on the lighting. The fab thing is that it's so buildable and considering it's a loose powder there isn't much fall out once applied. Zany is the perfect shade for blue eyes, it makes my eye colour pop and when used with the eyeliner, 10pm, you have the perfect Autumn eye combo.

To add a little extra colour to my face I used the Double Ended Precision Brush to apply the

Exquisite Radiance All-Over Face Colour, leaving my cheeks a flushed pink. With a slick of Apricot Nectar lip gloss I was ready to go. Since using Bare Minerals I am now so intrigued to try more products especially the BareMinerals Get Started Complexion Kit. There are so many fab sets on the Treat Your Skin website to choose from especially with Christmas coming up. I know where I will be writing my wish list from.
